Breastfeeding assistance and support groups

ACHD offers several breastfeeding services to pregnant and breastfeeding women. The Mom 2 Mom Group, with breastfeeding support, is open to all pregnant or breastfeeding women and their babies. Family and support persons are welcome to attend. These meetings are held at the Kentucky Road Christian Church Multipurpose room on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m., September through May. During the summer months, the group usually gathers at a local park on the same day and time. For questions about group or location, please feel free to contact ACHD.

Tips and Tricks to Feeding Your Newborn is a prenatal breastfeeding class held on the fourth Tuesday at 4:10 pm, and last Friday at 10:45 am. This class is designed to help make you and your baby’s first weeks together more pleasant and less frustrating! Please contact ACHD to register for this class.

Audrain County breastfeeding moms who do not qualify for WIC are eligible for a “Pumps For All” breast pump loan program. Hospital-grade, electric Medela breast pumps are available for loan to any breastfeeding mother. This also includes a pump kit, breastfeeding support, and education. There is a one-time $25.00 fee.

ACHD also offers WIC Breastfeeding Services including WIC services, WIC breast pump loan, breastfeeding education, texting program, Lactation Consultant and
Breastfeeding Peer Counselor support. If you are on WIC and have not visited with a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and would like to, please contact ACHD.
