She already knows the ebb and flow of our department and the personnel, which will make her transition more seamless to the position.” The communicable disease nurse provides epidemiological surveillance, investigation, and follow-up for reportable communicable diseases. Beamer will serve a vital role in public health and clinical settings by managing disease outbreaks, conducting patient case investigations, and enforcing infection control protocols.
