<image:caption>“Our promise is Client-First Care. From assisting you with environmental services or birth certificates to immunizations and maternal and children services, you are our priority.”— Craig Brace, FACHE, ACHD Administrator and CEO Hi, my name is Craig Brace, and I’m the Administrator and CEO of the Audrain County Health Department. I began my new role at the health department on November 2nd, 2020. I grew up pumping gas and changing oil at my dad’s gas station in Wellsville, Missouri, where I learned the importance of customer service. I began my career in management as a teenager running two hay-hauling crews in Audrain and Montgomery Counties. Yes, I learned valuable management lessons from this experience. I’m a graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. While attending SBU, I met my wife, Lois, who is the Executive and Artistic Director of Presser Arts Center. We have lived in Mexico for more than 3 decades and have 4 adult children, 1 grandson, and 1 granddaughter. I’m a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and board-certified in healthcare management. My mission statement is to be faithful to the resources and responsibilities entrusted to me by God in serving others. My kids and grandchildren make me smile.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hello my name is Jennie Beamer. I was born and raised in Audrain County. My Husband and I live here in Mexico with our two daughters and miniature dachshund. I achieved my LPN license from MACC in 2012. Then went to Hannibal-LaGrange to obtain my RN license and graduated in 2017. I finished with my bachelors of science in nursing degree in 2019. I worked at Gamma Road Nursing home, Hannibal Clinic while going back to nursing school and then SSM/Noble Health once I became a Registered Nurse until it closed when I started at the Health Department in March 2022. I have always loved serving this community and taking care of people I know.</image:caption>

<image:title>ACHD Team - Caitlin Blackburn, wic breastfeeding peer counselor</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi, name is Caitlin Blackburn and I have been a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor at ACHD since 2023. I have my BSE in Elementary Education and my MSE in Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Central Missouri. My fiancé and I were both born and raised in Mexico. I moved back home, and we have 2 beautiful daughters together and 2 bonus kiddos as well. We love spending time together as a family! We like to play card/board games, exercise, and be outside. After having my second daughter, I decided I wanted to stay home to be with my girls, and that is how I ended up working part time as a BFPC. My responsibilities as a BFPC are to provide breastfeeding education for pregnant moms and to provide counselling and assistance to breastfeeding moms. I love the opportunity to build relationships with so many women and their children. I am passionate about breastfeeding, and I love my job because I get to give moms the breastfeeding education they need. Education helps moms to be confident in their abilities to feed and nurture their babies, and I love seeing them meet their goals.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi, my name is Jodi Elliott. I grew up in Ralls County and graduated from Mark Twain in 2008. I went to college at MACC and then moved to Warrensburg and completed my bachelor’s degree in health studies with an emphasis in Community Health in 2012, at the University of Central Missouri. I started my career at ACHD in April of 2013. After having my daughter in 2015, I knew I wanted to work more closely with babies/kids. In 2016, I moved into the role of WIC Nutritionist and fell in love with educating and helping families. Currently, I still have the role of a WIC Nutritionist but have also added School Education and the Car Seat Program to my duties. Although I grew up in Ralls County and still reside there, I have always enjoyed working with the Audrain County community.</image:caption>

<image:title>ACHD Team - courtney george, wic breastfeeding peer counselor</image:title>
<image:caption>I started working at the Health Department in February 2025, and my role is to support and educate moms through every stage of their breastfeeding journey. I help prepare pregnant moms for those important first days after birth, making sure they have the knowledge and tools they need. Once baby arrives, I check in to see how breastfeeding or pumping is going and find out what kind of support they need. My favorite part of the job is talking with moms—not just about breastfeeding, but about motherhood in general. I love getting to know them during pregnancy, seeing them again once baby is born, and celebrating their determination, especially when breastfeeding gets tough. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom to a 2-year-old son and a baby girl who was born in March 2025. At home, we also have a cat and a goldendoodle who are just as much a part of the family. I’m an avid reader, usually finishing about three books a week, and I enjoy doing my own nails and painting—though finding time for that can be a challenge with two little ones!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hello! My name is Christina Jensen and I started working for ACHD in August 2020. I started as the front desk Administrative Assistant and Vital Records Registrar and then transferred to Environmental Services. One of my favorite things about working for ACHD is working with community members and clients. I was born in Illinois and raised in Montgomery County, MO. My husband and I moved our family to Laddonia in 1992 and we remain there today. I have 4 wonderful sons, 4 beautiful Daughter-in-Laws, 5 handsome grandsons, and 1 gorgeous granddaughter. About 6 years ago I found my love for traveling and take every opportunity to go places and learn new things. If I could travel to anyplace in the world I would love to go to either Sweden or Ireland. One of my favorite places to be is anywhere with my children and grandchildren.</image:caption>

I enjoy helping people any way that I can to help meet their needs. I feel that showing empathy, being kind and greeting people with a warm smile can help brighten someone’s day and truly make a difference. I love spending time with my husband, Shawn of 27 years and our two adult children, Lauren, and Jared. We have a strong faith and lead a busy life in Ministry. I enjoy reading, tending to my flower garden, going for walks, and traveling. I love going to places where I can relax and enjoy God’s beautiful creation, like the mountains, waterfalls, and beaches. I love the tranquility that they bring. I like the saying, The most important things in life aren’t things. <image:caption>Hi, my name is Brandi Meyer. I am a public health nurse at the Audrain County Health Department. I attended nursing school at Moberly Area Community College Advanced Technology Center. I graduated in 2003. During nursing school, my dad passed away and I took some time off after graduation to reassess where I wanted my path to go. I began my job at Audrain County Health Department in September 2004 with no intention of making it a long-term career. 20 plus years later and I haven’t left. I am proud to serve Audrain County as the Immunization and Lab Services Program Lead. I married my high school sweetheart Jesse in 2004. We have two children that keep us very busy. In my spare time, I love to read, try new recipes, and travel. My family and I find that our greatest memories come from the time we spend together in the simplest moments.</image:caption>

      <image:title>ACHD Team - Chris Newbrough | Emergency Planner/Public Information Officer</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi, my name is Chris Newbrough and my favorite part of working at ACHD is that, in my role as the Emergency Planner/Public Information Officer (PIO), I know I’m making a difference in people’s lives! Since starting at ACHD in September of 2014, I’d have to say that watching the light bulb go on for one of our 25,000-ish residents when they realize we really do care about their well-being makes my job the easiest one I’ve ever had! My favorite hobby is as an audiophile. My wife gets tired of me saying “You gotta hear this!” Luckily, I have an old college friend that I trade music with daily! Discovering new music that makes my insides all jittery is the coolest thing in the world, I think! Totally enjoy that when it happens! My wife and I have four fur-babies named Daisy, Marley, Lilly, and Sassie. Daisy is the old mother hen of the brood as our elderly Labrador Retriever. Marley is our “I don’t give out kisses” 10-year-old Heinz 57. Sassie is our approximately nine-year-old dachschund whose name describes her perfectly and, Lilly is our one and a half year old Catahoula Leopard Hound who is just as incorrigible as ever. Thanks for stopping by and visiting and, don’t be a stranger when seeing me out and about! Say “Hi!” I love to chat!</image:caption>

I enjoy being at home and I love the peace and quiet that gardening brings me. My favorite meal is dinner, any food, as long as friends and family are there.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hello, my name is Regina Smith, and I am a Mexico native. I currently handle accounting and bookkeeping for Audrain County Health Department. I come to ACHD with an extensive background in customer service and I enjoy working with the public. I have always had a passion for helping others and caring for children in any capacity. I believe in fairness and equality, and I’m grateful to be gifted with a deep sense of empathy. I try to live life expressing my belief that everyone deserves to feel like they matter every day. The greatest job of my life has been motherhood. I am a proud “boy mom” to my two sons, and so blessed to be called Nana by three perfect little humans. I try to spend as much time as possible with my children and grandchildren making as many memories together as possible. Time is fleeting, life is fragile, and they are only small for a short time, I do my best to always show up for them. In my spare time I enjoy things like concerts, festivals, traveling, comedy, photography, dancing, tailgating, floating, fishing, hiking, watching movies, flowers, trying new restaurants, catching sunrises/sunsets, and spending time with friends. I am drawn to anything relating to water- streams, ponds, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and oceans- it is simply healing to my mind & soul. I hope to live close to a beach someday. If undetected, incorrect low glucose readings over an extended period may lead to incorrect treatment decisions for people living with diabetes, such as excessive carbohydrate intake or skipping or delaying insulin doses. These decisions may pose serious health risks, including potential injury or death, or other less serious complications. Abbott has identified and resolved the cause of the issue, which relates to one production line among several that make Libre 3 and Libre 3 Plus sensors. The company continues to produce Libre 3 and Libre 3 Plus sensors to fulfill replacement and new orders and does not expect significant supply disruptions. This action involves approximately 3 million Libre 3 and Libre 3 Plus sensors in the U.S. from that production line, about half of which are estimated to have expired or been used. Globally, Abbott has received reports of 736 severe adverse events (57 in the U.S.) and seven deaths (none in the U.S.) potentially associated with this issue. Infant botulism is a rare but potentially fatal illness that presents a serious threat to the health of infants which occurs when Clostridium botulinum spores are ingested and colonize the intestinal tract, producing botulinum neurotoxins in the immature gut of infants. Affected infants can present with some or all of the following signs and symptoms: constipation, poor feeding, ptosis (drooping eyelid), sluggish pupils, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak or altered cry, generalized weakness, respiratory difficulty, and possibly respiratory arrest. • The FDA has an ongoing investigation of infant botulism among babies in the U.S. • The FDA has not identified a direct link between any infant formula and these cases and there is no historical precedent of infant formula causing infant botulism. • ByHeart is taking the proactive step to remove any potential risk from the market and ensure the highest level of safety for infants. ByHeart was notified by the FDA on November 7, 2025 of an estimated 83 cases of infant botulism that were reported nationwide since August 2025. Of these, the FDA also noted that 13 infants received ByHeart formula at some point. The FDA has not identified a direct link between any infant formula and these cases and there is no historical precedent of infant formula causing infant botulism. Botulism is extremely uncommon in dairy products or infant formula, and is naturally occurring in environmental sources like soil, select vegetables, and dust. ByHeart adheres to the highest standards of Global and U.S. recommendations for product testing and safety. No ByHeart product has tested positive for any contaminants. “The safety and well-being of every infant who uses our formula is our absolute highest priority,” said Mia Funt, Co-Founder and President. “We take any potential safety concern extremely seriously, and act quickly to protect families. As parents ourselves, we understand the concern this news may raise. This voluntary recall is out of an abundance of caution and comes from our ongoing commitment to transparency and safety for babies and their parents. While no testing by ByHeart or regulatory agencies has confirmed the presence of Clostridium botulinum spores or toxin in any ByHeart product, we are taking this proactive step to remove any potential risk from the market and ensure the highest level of safety for infants.” Product Details for Voluntary Recall: The voluntary recall applies to the following two batches of ByHeart infant formula: • Batch Code: 251261P2, Use by: 01 Dec 2026 • Batch Code: 251131P2, Use by: 01 Dec 2026 • UPC: 5004496800 • Product Image : See below • The batch code and use by can be found on the bottom of the can. <image:caption>Necessary Information: Web Link- https://www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls-alerts/fsis-issues-public-health-alert-ready-eat-meals-containing-pasta-may-be-contaminated See original announcement for examples of labels Company Announcement: WASHINGTON, September 25, 2025 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for ready-to-eat meals containing a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated pre-cooked pasta that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm). FSIS expects more updates as this investigation continues. As more information becomes available, FSIS will update this public health alert. Consumers should check back frequently because additional products may be added. The following product is subject to the public health alert [view labels]: 12-oz. clear plastic tray packages labeled “MARKETSIDE LINGUINE WITH BEEF MEATBALLS & MARINARA SAUCE” with “best if used by” dates SEP 22, 2025; SEP 24, 2025; SEP 25, 2025; SEP 29, 2025; SEP 30, 2025; and OCT 01, 2025. The product bears establishment number “EST. 50784” or "EST. 47718" inside the USDA mark of inspection. This item was shipped to Walmart locations nationwide. The producing company collected samples of the FDA-regulated, pre-cooked pasta used as an ingredient in these products as part of the ongoing investigation related to the Listeria outbreak linked to chicken fettuccine alfredo meals. The test confirmed that the linguine pasta was positive for Lm and further testing is ongoing to determine if the Lm is genetically related to the specific outbreak strain. FSIS previously issued a recall notice linked to the Listeria outbreak in June and continues to coordinate with FDA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and state public health partners. Consumption of food contaminated with Lm can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections can occur in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics. Persons in the higher-risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food should seek medical care and tell the health care provider about eating the contaminated food. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions regarding the public health alert can contact Nate’s Fine Foods at 916-677-7303. Operating hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PST Monday through Friday. Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov. Cs-137 is a man-made radioisotope of cesium. Traces of Cs-137 are widespread and can be present in the environment at background levels, and at higher levels in water or foods grown, raised, or produced in areas with environmental contamination. The primary health effect of concern following longer term, repeated low dose exposure (e.g., through consumption of contaminated food or water over time) is an elevated risk of cancer, resulting from damage to DNA within living cells of the body. Bagged frozen shrimp and shrimp cocktail products were sold by Kroger in the following states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MO, MS, MT, NE, NM, NV, OH, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV and WY. Bahari Makmur Sejati (doing business as BMS Foods). No illnesses have been reported to date. As noted in the FDA statement issued on 8/19/25: “At this time, no product that has tested positive or alerted for Cesium-137 (Cs-137) has entered the U.S. commerce.” FDA is working with distributors and retailers that received product from PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati after the date of first detection of Cs-137 by Customs & Border Protection (CBP), but from shipments that did not alert for Cs-137, to recommend that firms conduct a recall. In conjunction with other information, FDA determined that product from PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati violates the Federal Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Act in that it appears to have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with Cs-137 and may pose a safety concern. Consumers who have purchased the recalled bagged frozen shrimp or frozen shrimp products should not consume the product and should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. <image:title>Recalls - Kroger Mercado Cooked Medium Peeled Tail-Off Shrimp recall</image:title>
<image:caption>****RECALL**** MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SENIOR SERVICES RECALL ALERT Necessary Information: • Web Link- https://www.fda.gov/.../aquastar-usa-corp-recalls-kroger... • See original announcement for examples of labels Company Announcement August 27, 2025, AquaStar (USA) Corp of Seattle, WA is recalling approximately 18,000 bags (net wt. 2lbs) of Kroger Mercado Cooked Medium Peeled Tail-Off Shrimp because they may have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby they may have become contaminated with cesium-137 (Cs-137). The affected shrimp was sold at Baker’s, Gerbes, Jay C, Kroger, Mariano’s, Metro Market, Pay Less Supermarkets, and Pick ‘n Save in AL, AR, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MO, MS, NE, OH, SC, TN, VA, WI, WV between July 24, 2025 and August 11, 2025. The recalled Kroger Mercado Cooked Medium Peeled Tail-Off Shrimp, net wt. 2lbs., is packaged in clear plastic bag and has a white label with green stripes on top of each bag and has the following codes: • UPC 011110626196, Lot code 10662 5139, Best Before 11/19/2027 • UPC 011110626196, Lot code 10662 5140, Best Before 11/20/2027 The FDA is actively investigating reports of Cesium-137 (Cs-137) contamination in shipping containers and frozen shrimp products processed by PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati (doing business as BMS Foods) of Indonesia. No illnesses have been reported to date. As noted in the FDA statement issued on 8/19/25: “At this time, no product that has tested positive or alerted for Cesium-137 (Cs-137) has entered the U.S. commerce.” “FDA is working with distributors and retailers that received product from PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati after the date of first detection of Cs-137 by Customs & Border Protection (CBP), but from shipments that did not alert for Cs-137, to recommend that firms conduct a recall. In conjunction with other information, FDA determined that product from PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati violates the Federal Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Act in that it appears to have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with Cs-137 and may pose a safety concern.” Consumers who have purchased affected shrimps should not consume the product and should dispose of or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-331-3440, Monday-Friday, 8am-5 pm PST.
